"The Mystical Bird: Shi Hu's Return to Macao" - Exhibition of Paintings |

The
Cultural Institute will be holding “The Mystical Bird: Shi Hu’s Return to Macao”
exhibition of paintings from May 28 to July 18, displaying Chinese artist Shi
Hu’s most recent works.
Born in Hebei Province, China, Shi Hu loved to paint at a young age. He has
studied in Beijing Art and Design College and China National Academy of Art,
Zhejiang. Shi started teaching in Beijing Art and Design College in 1968. In
1978, he visited 13 countries in Africa and published a painting album about
Africa. Shi Hu’s paintings are the mixture of Chinese and Western traditions and
all kinds of patterns, combining the art of Chinese paintings, western
paintings, frescos, farmer’s paintings and carvings. Some of his paintings have
been sold at a high price in local and foreign markets. In 1990, Shi migrated to
Macao and has held exhibitions in Macao, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing,
Singapore, Djakarta and Hawaii. His exhibitions are always well received.
In “The Mystical Bird: Shi Hu’s Return to Macao” exhibition of paintings is Shi
Hu’s first in Macao after his circuit in China. The exhibition will display Shi
Hu’s most recent 60 ink paintings and 52 paintings on potteries.
The opening ceremony of “The Mystical Bird: Shi Hu’s Return to Macao” exhibition
of paintings will be held at 18:30 on May 28 at Tap Seac Gallery. The exhibition
will be open to the public daily from 10:00 to 19:00 until July 18. Free
admission.
